Summer 2009: Alaska to Panama California.

Route!More specifically - Anchorage, Alaska to Panama City, Panama San Diego, California on bicycles. Many people are curious asking why we would do such a thing. So we'd like to clear that up right here on the home page.

Philanthropy

We (Alex and Ryan) have volunteered with Push America in various capacities since 2000. Our experiences with Push America have been both challenging and rewarding. We've built wheelchair ramps & high ropes courses. We've also traversed both haunted houses and water parks, serving as both helpers and friends to people with disabilities. Push America has helped shaped us into the men we are today -- we are going to use this trip as a tool to raise awareness about the abilities of peoples with disabilities and to raise money to further the goals of Push America.

Projects

Exploration will be at the heart of what we are doing all summer. We are both endlessly curious about the workings of the world. Socioeconomic issues, political issues, culinary delights, and random goodness. It is our goal this summer to constantly seek out opinions and the lay of the land wherever we might be. Adventure

There is no schedule for this trip. We can't say that we'll be here or there on July 29th or there or here on October 3rd. We are going to take each day as it comes, if we are feeling a 150 mile day or a day off -- so it will be. Yes, we will be looking out for bears in Alaska. Yes, Alex is going to try to catch salmon with his bear hands. Yes we are going to meet strangers; we are going to be lonely too. Yes we are going to push ourselves and eachother to the limits. This trip is about self discovery as much as anything else - and we'll do that by seeking out adventure.
